In a special campaign to curb illegal use of natural gas, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd has disconnected gas illegal gas connections found in three commercial establishments in the capital.
The company also severed 33,841 feet of distribution pipelines in Dhaka and Narayanganj districts, disconnection illegal connections to around 900 households, according to a press release issued by Titas on Tuesday.
An inspection team of Titas recently conducted seven drives in different areas under the jurisdiction of Titas to identify these illegal connections as well as subcribers with huge amount of bills due, the press release said.
According to Bangladesh Gas Act, 2010, installing and using unauthorised gas pipeline is a punishable offence.
