At least three people have been killed as a bus knocked down a van on the Dhaka-Mymensingh road in Gangain area of Tangail's Madhupur upazila.
The accident took place on the busy highway on Tuesday morning.
The deceased are Farhad Hossain, 35, Bedana, 65, and Ashraful, 45.
Madhupur Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Officer SK Tuhin told the Bangla Tribune, a sistern concern of the Dhaka Tribune, that a Mymensingh-bound bus of Prantik Paribahan from the district hit a van carrying the trio from behind around 8:30am.
Farhad and Bedana died instantly on the spot while Ashraful died of his injuries on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Madhupur police station Officer-in-Charge confirmed the incident.
