Three new judges to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court have been sworn into office by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha.
The three judges are Justice Mirza Hussain Haider, Justice Md Nizamul Huq, and Justice Mohammad Bazlur Rahman.
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha administered the oath taking ceremony held at Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge on Monday morning.
With the addition of the three, the number of judges to the Appellate Division stands at nine.
Meanwhile, the two bench of the Appellate Division was also reconstituted.
The law ministry had issued a gazette notification on the promotion of the judges on Sunday. The gazette was issued after President Md Abdul Hamid promoted them.
