Nur Hossain denied bail in 3 extortion cases

A Narayanganj court has rejected bail to Nur Hossain, the prime accused in sensational seven murder case, in three extortion cases.

Narayanganj Senior Judicial Megistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order on Monday morning, Nur Hossain's counsel Advocate Khokon Saha said.

Court police Sub-Inspector Golam Hossain said two of the cases were sent to judge court for trial while the hearing in another case would be held later.

On June 15, 2014, the West Bengal police arrested Nur with some of his accomplices from Kolkata. He had been in Indian custody since then.

He was handed over to BGB 26 Battalion Deputy Commander Maj Liakat Ali on November 12 last year. Later, Nur Hossain was shown arrested in 11 cases including the seven-murder case.

On April 27, 2014, Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted. Later, their bodies were recovered from Shitalaykha river on April 30. Nazrul’s wife filed an abduction case against Nur and several others on April 28.
