Mesbahuddin Mahmood, deputy general manager of HRD, finance and accounts, and logistics at Hortex Foundation under the Ministry of Agriculture, died on Friday night. He was 71.
He was undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospitals Dhaka in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area when he passed away, sources close to the family said.
Mesbah was the younger brother of Kafiluddin Mahmood, former finance adviser to Shahabuddin Ahmad’s caretaker government.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held on Saturday after Fazr prayers at his residence in Pink City in Dhaka. Later, he was buried in his family graveyard at South Dharmapur village in Fulgazi upazila, Feni. Mesbah is survived by his wife and two daughters.
