Dhaka Metropolitan Police authorities are going to provide special security for the bloggers and writers at Amar Ekushey Boi Mela.
“We have list of bloggers and we are ensuring security for them. Despite having the steps, if any blogger feel insecure, we will arrange special security for him as well”, said DMP Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia.
For the first time, there will have a four-tier security arrangement for the visitors surrounding the fair.

The commissioner stated the security measures in press conference held in DMP media centre on Sunday morning.
Asaduzzaman also said special security has been arranged for foreigners and their stalls in the fair. Even a female police team has been assigned there to prevent sexual harassment while the entrance to Suhrawardy Udyan would be restricted after 5:30pm as part of the measures.
In reply to a query, the official told the reporters that foot patrolling and linage security of police have been ensured inside the fair so that any criminal cannot escape the place after committing untoward incidents.
About the ongoing investigation into the murders of writer Abhijit Roy outside the book fair venue last year and his publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan in his office a few months ago, the DMP commissioner claimed to have important headway in it and he, however, did not clarify the development.
