Police have discovered the hanging body of a college student in Bejpara area under the district town.
The recovery was made on Wednesday morning and local police claimed the death mysterious.
The dead, Komlesh Roy, 20, was a first year honours student of Jessore Government MM College, and son of Gubinda Roy, of Boyarkhola in Manirampur upazila.
The deceased's paternal cousin Polash Roy said Komlesh used to reside in a mess on Kaborstan road of the area and the locals spotted his hanging body with a rope from a nearby tree around 7:30am and informed police.
Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Gani Miah said Komlesh's death was shrouded in mystery as the tree he used to commit the suicide was low than his height.
Police picked Polash to their office for questioning in this regard, the OC also said.
The body was sent to Jessore 250-bed Hospital morgue for autopsy.
