Agami, a non-profit organisation, yesterday announced a partnership with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in their initiative to localise the Khan Academy in Bangladesh. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the parties to this effect.
The initiative was launched in July last year through a partnership between Agami and Grameenphone with the goal of launching the Bangla website of Khan Academy, a non-profit educational organisation created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan to provide “a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere,” this year.
State Minister for the Ministry of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Executive Director of Agami Education Foundation Nafisa Khanam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council SM Ashraful Islam and other officials from the ministry and Agami were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
The initial phase of the website localisation has been completed and launching of the Bangla website of Khan Academy is expected soon. The initiative is expected to further accelerate with the long term goal of bringing the localised platform to students and teachers in the next 3-5 years.
