Five people, who were trapped in a lift as its wire went torn at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), have been rescued.
Md Abbas Mia, a worker of MMCH said the wire of a lift of Emergency Unit of the Old Bhaban of the hospital was torn when some five people were being taken to the upper floors of the building.
On information, members of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and rescued two of them, said a fire service worker Abdus Sattar.
Later, the rest three people were also rescued by the fire service men, he added.
