A woman has filed a case with a Chittagong court against the officer-in-charge of Pahartali police station in the city for sexual harassment, intrusion and vandalism.
Taking the case into cognizance, the court has ordered to submit a report by March 28 after investigation.
Nazmun Nahar Juli, a resident of Pahartali area in the city filed the case with the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Rahmat Ali on Monday.
In the case, the plaintiff accused OC Ranjit Barua and two other people.
Confirming about the case, Kazi Muttaki Ibn Minan, CMP additional deputy commissioner said that the woman filed the case under section 323, 354, 427, 247, 248, 506 and 109 of the penal code.
Talking to Dhaka Tribune, OC Ranjit Barua said that the case had no base.
Pleading his innocence, the OC said that the plaintiff had a long-standing dispute with her neighbour Sultan Ahmed.
“The feuding neighbours filed several cases against each other over establishing supremacy in the area. Both the parties are involved with narcotics trade in the area. On January 14 of this year, both parties locked into altercation and later came to me resolve the dispute. I was sued intentionally as I did not give her undue advantage,” claimed the OC.
