The police department has launched counseling sessions to check moral degradation of its members, DB Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam said.
He made the remarks while briefing media about overall law and order situation on Saturday afternoon.
"Police department will not take responsibility for any of its member's moral degradation," Monirul said.

In response to a query about the recent incidents of torture by policemen, he said: "Police Headquarters has formed a probe committee to investigate the incidents.
“Actions will be taken against the policemen if they are found guilty.”
The probe committee will also look into the matter whether the officers-in-charge of the respective police stations had negligence in monitoring their subordinates, he added.

On Friday, an inspector of the Dhaka South City Corporation was beaten up severely by some patrol police members in plain clothes in the capital’s Dholairpar area.
The incident drew huge criticisms as a sub-inspector of Mohammadpur police, Md Masud Sikder, caught and tortured Bangladesh Bank official Golam Rabbi on January 9.
Masud, who also threatened Rabbani with death if he failed to pay him Tk5 lakh, was suspended on Saturday.
