22-year-old Mizanur Rahman makes his living as a construction worker. On the evening of the January 3, Mizanur was working for a building inside Bashundhara Residential Area, and he fell from height followed by an electric shock. He was brought to Apollo Hospitals Dhaka by his fellow workers. The patient recieved deep injuries all over his limbs with profuse bleeding. There was superficial burns over his right and left lower limb.
After he was reported, the accident and emergency department immediately assessed the patient. Poly Trauma code was activated, and the specialised team responded immediately. After initial resuscitative measures, the patient was rushed to the operation theatre without delay. The team operated the patient where the bleeding points were secured and the patient was later shifted to intensive care for further treatment.
A co-worker from the construction site brought Mizanur to the nearest hospital, which was Apollo Hospitals Dhaka; even though they knew that the treatment would not be affordable to them. Recovery of the patient has particularly brought a sense of pride and satisfaction to the entire team of Apollo. When it came to a life saving situation, the hospital responded compassionately by not looking at the affordability of treating the patient. Timely intervention by Apollo Hospitals Dhaka has saved the life and limbs of this young man.
