Police recovered a slit-throat body of a fifth grade student from a house in Chittagong city’s Shershah-Banglabazar area under Bayezid police station yesterday evening.
Local spotted the slit-throat body of Azim Hossen, 12, a student of Shershah Government Primary School, and informed police about the matter, said Officer-in-Charge of Bayezid police station Mohammed Mohsin. The deceased’s mother is a garment worker and his father is a vegetable vendor, added OC.
Police arrested the alleged killer Roni Akhtar, 19, and recovered a sharp weapon from his possession.
Quoting the deceased’s mother, OC Mohsin said Azim was alone at the house while the incident took place.
“A few days earlier Roni was caught by Azim’s mother while he was stealing mobile phone from the house and Roni was fined Tk3,000 by locals that triggered a dispute between them”, said the OC.
