Bangladesh Bank has asked the banks to provide agriculture loan for buffalo rearing as well as dairy farms.
Banks have been asked to disburse loans for buffalo rearing under the annual farm loan policy to promote the sub-sector, said a circular Bangladesh Bank issued yesterday.
The circular said the buffalo rearing is a profitable business as well as dairy farm. Buffalo rearing is easy and have a huge potential across the country, but the loan disbursement is insufficient against the sub-sector. Under the circumstances, banks have been asked to take necessary steps to include the sector under their agriculture loan activities, said the circular.
