Celebrity responses to earthquake

In response to the 6.7 magnitude Manipur earthquake that rattled the country yesterday morning, celebrities posted about their fears and anticipation on the social media. Some shared advices, some prayed for everyone’s safety, while others made funny comments. Here are a few celebrity posts that are reposted on people’s time-line since the tremor was felt.

Bappa Mazumder

“Our lift cable was raptured due to today’s earthquake and two members of our premises were stuck in it for almost one hour. It was a horrifying experience.

To me, it’s much safer inside buildings under strong structures. There are more risks outside like high voltage electric cables and shattered glasses falling down from this over crowded city’s over crowded unplanned apartments. No offence, it’s my personal opinion...

Stay safe...keep your cell phones charged and keep them close to you...”

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki

“Unbelievably strong earthquake felt in Dhaka. Hope everyone is safe. Some reports suggest it was 6.8, 60km deep, and the epicentre is just 346km away from Dhaka. Considering the frequency of earthquakes the last couple of months, I think it’s a serious wake up call for us. (frown emoticon).

And lastly, why did we create a jungle of concrete in an earthquake prone zone and on a dangerous fault line?”

Shahtaj Monira Hashem

“EARTHQUAKE!!!!! Am I the first person to post earthquake status???”

Naveed Mahbub

“Rare incidence of meeting the neighbours after the jolt...”

Nawsheen Nahreen Mou

“Finally gathered courage to write about the earthquake. I was so much scared, may be for the first time ever in life I had such feelings. The only thing I wanted at that moment was to hug each and every member of my family. God bless us.”

Adnan Al Rajeev

“Safety! If needed” (with an attachment)

Pritom Ahmed

“Emergency weather call!!! No selfies of the earthquake-time have been found yet.”

Safa Kabir

“I’m still waiting for the second round...”

Sabila Nur

“Swear to God, I’m never gonna squabble again. What if this is the result of that outrage. Forgive me.”

Sohini Alam

“Scrolling through Facebook and relieved to find that friends and family in Bangladesh seem to be OK after the earthquake. Lots of love to you all.”

Nazifa Tushi

“Didn’t feel this much of panic even during the earthquake what now I feel.”
