Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said the price of fuel oil might be reduced.
He made the statement at a meeting with a delegation of Metropolitan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) held at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
The minister said: “We have already recovered the loss of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.
“We are thinking of reducing the price of fuel oil but if we do so, we will have to put up a proposal in the cabinet.”
Meanwhile, the delegation also submitted an action plan to Muhith for boasting trade, investment and export in the country.
In the meeting, MCCI President Syed Nasim Manzur expressed concern about the collection of VAT from the businessmen by members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
