Theater fest at JU

A week-long theater festival, featuring seven theaters on a daily basis, commenced yesterday at the Selim al Deen Muktamancho of Jahangirnagar University.

The festival marks the 36th anniversary of Jahangirnagar Theater, for the troupe organises the festival annually at the campus.

Followed by a colourful procession early in the morning, the festival began through a staging of Socrates-er Jabanbondi performed by Drishyapat Theatre while Na Manush-e Jamin will be performed by Theater Arts Unit the second day. The third day shall be hosted at the Jahangirnagar Theatre, where Pragoitihashik shall be staged while Prachyanaut will hold Kanu Kaharar Thater on day four. 

The Bet will be staged by Jahangirnagar Theater on January 5 and Grontikhogon Kohen will be staged by Prakton Snatokottor Projojona on January 6.

The performances will be staged every day at the university’s Selim Al Deen Muktamancho, in the evening, till the event lasts.

Dr Mohammad Bari, playwright, actor and director of Theater Arts Unit, Abdul Kader, a freedom fighter, would be honoured on the concluding day.
