The government's approval rating has reached 66% in 2015 while the rating for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reached 67%, according to an opinion poll conducted by Nielsen-Bangladesh under the supervision of Global Strategic Partners and the International Republican Institute (IRI), USA.
Almost half the respondents categorically disapproved of the opposition while half of the remaining population was not sure about what the Opposition was doing.
The approval ratings for other state organs were also quite high. The judiciary, according to the survey, enjoyed a 73% approval rating.
The deputy commissioners were not far behind, with an approval rating of 72% and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) also enjoyed a high degree of confidence with 76% endorsement rating.
The media seem to instill a great deal of confidence among the masses with one of the highest approval ratings of 83%, according to the opinion poll.
The number of people who thought the government was in the right direction jumped from 33% in November 2013 to an all-time high of 62% by mid-2015.
The methodology used by the pollsters was multi-stratified probability sample through in-person, in-home interviews. In all, 2,550 people between the ages of 18 and above were interviewed and the margin of error was plus or minus 2% with a confidence level of 95%.
