The journalists covering the Election Commission (EC) are facing bars in covering news as the commission has restricted their access to the EC secretariat, where EC top bosses do office.
Journos were restricted to enter in the block area from Wednesday morning where chief election commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, commissioners Mohammad Abdul Mobarak, Mohammad Abu Hafiz and secretary Sirajul Islam attend their office.
EC secretary Sirajul Islam told reporters that they are not allowing journalists as it will create trouble in official works.
Representative teams from Awami League and BNP is now staying inside EC. The BNP team led by former education minister Osman Faruk is inside commissioner M Shahnewaz's room and Awami League team led by H T Imam is now inside commissioner M Zabed Ali's office.
