Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained three journalists of private television channel ATN News for violating the electoral code at Puthia municipality in Rajshahi.
Of the detainees, one was identified as ATN News Rajshahi Bureau Chief Sourab Habib.
Puthia OC Hafizur Rahman said: “They were detained when they entered the election monitoring camp of BGB at PN School polling centre without any permission around 2:30am Wednesday.”
Sourab's uncle GM Hira Bachchu is contesting the polls as Awami League rebel mayoral candidate.
