Founding member and singer of the British heavy metal band Motörhead, Lemmy has died at the age of 70. It wasn’t long since he was diagnosed with cancer.
According to the band members, Lemmy learned about his disease on December 26 and was at home at the time of his death.
Ian Fraser Kilmister, formed the band Motörhead in 1975, he was the singer and bassist. The band, best known for their 1980 single Ace of Spades, has released 23 studio albums till now.
The band has requested their and Lemmy’s fans to, “Play Lemmy’s music LOUD. Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.”
“There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learned of the disease on December 26, and was at home, sitting in front of his favourite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family. We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness; there aren’t words.
