New Indian visa centre at Uttara

India has opened a new visa application centre at Uttara in the capital.

Acting Indian High Commissioner Dr Adarsh Swaika opened the centre on Tuesday, reports BSS.

With the opening of the IVAC at Uttara, the number of Indian Visa Application Centre (IVACs) in Dhaka is now four. These include the IVACs in Gulshan, Dhanmondi and Motijheel.

Three new IVACs were inaugurated in September at Barisal, Rangpur and Mymensingh. This was in addition to the centres at Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna.

State Bank of India is presently operating 11 Indian Visa Application Centres in Bangladesh in all.

State Bank of India (SBI) is the authorised agent of the High Commission of India in Dhaka for accepting Indian visa applications through the Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs).

The new IVAC facility at Uttara will be open to visa applicants from December 30.

The visa applicants can deposit their application forms at IVAC at House No. 56, Road No. 18, Sector No. 7, Uttara.
