Journalist Abdul Khaleq passes away

National Press Club permanent member and former city editor and chief reporter of daily Janakantha Abdul Khaleq has died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). He was 68.

Abdul Khaleq left behind wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death, said a press release.

He was born in Comilla on April 7 in 1947. He started his career as a journalist by joining Dainik Azad in September 1968 after passing MA from Dhaka University.

Jatiya Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and General Secretary Quamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed profound shock at the death of Abdul Khaleq.

In a message of condolence, they prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
