A packaging factory has caught fire at Baratnagar in Dhamrai municipality area.
Three units of fire fighters rushed in and brought the flame under control after one and a half hour's hectic effort.
Workers of Barat Packaging Limited noticed smoke being coming out of the factory around 1pm Tuesday and then informed the fire service. Soon the fire engulfed the entire factory.
Dhamrai Fire Service warehouse Inspector Rabiul Alamin confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the incident.
He said: "We rushed to the spot as soon as we were informed. But it took one and a half hour to douse the fire because of the intensity of the flame."
The fire was originated from the short circuit of the factory, he added.
