The Election Commission will sit with law enforcement agencies today to finalise security strategies for the countrywide municipal elections slated for December 30.
The meeting will be held at Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) auditorium in the capital, EC Secretary Sirazul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune yesterday.
Chiefs from Police, RAB, BGB, Coast Guard, Ansar and intelligence agencies will join the meeting which will be chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, he said.
Representatives from Armed Forces Division, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, returning officers will also attend the meeting, the EC Secretary added.
The Election Commission will finalise security measures for curbing election violence and anomalies as well as violation of the election code of conduct during the municipal election after taking suggestions from the participants in the meeting.
