The government will not allow more than 20 biometric SIM cards against a single NID (National Identification).
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim came up with the disclosure after a review meeting held at telecom division at the secretariat in the city yesterday.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT adviser to the Prime Minister, took part in the review meeting.
The regulatory body will soon issue a directive in this regard, said Tarana Halima after the meeting.
“After completing of the biometric SIM registration, the government will be able to know, how many SIM cards are using against a single NID,” she added.
