The road and rail communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country have remained suspended due to a transport strike and a sudden train derailment.
The stalemate ensued from Tuesday morning.
Around 9:30am, four boogies of Kishoreganj-bound train Egaro Sindur Express veered off the tracks, halting train movement on the Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Kishoreganj routes, said Narsingdi's Raypura UNO Abdul Matin.
Meanwhile, some private TV stations reported that Sylhet district has been experiencing a transport strike since this morning as well creating immense suffering for the commuters.
