Two police constables have been killed in two separate road accidents in Jessore on Monday.
The deceased are constable Jamirul Islam, 35, posted at Barobazar highway station, Kaliganj, and constable Abdul Halim,45, posted at Sadar upazila’s Chadpara police camp, reported UNB.
OC at Kotoali police station Akkas Ali informed that Abdul Halim was hit by a car from behind as he was passing the local Palbari Vashkarja More riding a bicycle.
He was rushed to Jessore Combined Military Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Barobazar highway police camp inspector Farid Uddin Bhuiyan informed that a Shapla Paribahan bus hit Jamirul near the Jhenaidah-Jessore highway at Rahmatpur.
He died on the spot.
His body was sent to Jessore General Hospital for a post-mortem.
Two separate cases were filed with Kotwali police station.
