Pakistan national sent back from Dhaka airport

A Pakistani national has been deported from Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on ground of not having a proper visa on Monday.

Mahbubur Rahman, special superintendent (Immigration) at the airport, told the Dhaka Tribune that Asma Khalid, who is a senior joint director of State Bank of Pakistan, was sent back to her country at 1:30pm Monday.

She was due to attend a seminar during her visit to Bangladesh, however, she came here without any valid visa, the official said.

He said she came on Sunday in a plane of Qatar Airlines, but failed to submit any of the papers required.

The official said Bangladesh does not host on arrival visa as such, excepting some cases.
