Kaler Kantho ex-deputy editor killed in road crash

Former deputy editor of the daily Kaler Kantho Abdullah Al-Faruk has been killed in a road accident in the capital’s Kakrail area.

Faruk died at Square Hospital in Dhaka around 5am Sunday.

Deceased's son Shamim told the Dhaka Tribune that a truck knocked down his father while he was crossing a road in front of Hotel Rajmoni Ishakha around 1am.

Faruk was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and then he was shifted to Square Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 5am.

On November 29, 2014, senior journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury was killed in a road accident in the capital’s Karwan Bazar area.
