NBR to recognise 12 young tax writers

The National Board of Revenue is going to recognise 12 secondary and higher-secondary level students for their write-ups on tax-related issues.

During the National Income Tax Day on September 15, the revenue authority launched an essay-writing competition under these two categories to raise awareness among future generations.

Students from grade six to 12 submitted essays on “why one should pay tax” and students from grades 11 and 12 wrote on the “role of income tax in Bangladesh’s development.”

“We have received huge response from the young generation during the competition. From among them, six from each categories, have been shortlisted as winners,” NBR Chairman Nojibur Rahman said.

Winners from the secondary category are: Ahmed Zabeer, Adiba Tasnuva Hossain, Shudipto Chakraborty, Muhaiminur Rashid, Nafisa Tabassum, and Sanjida Akhter.

Winners from the higher secondary category are: Mehnaz Ahmed Momo, Himon Thakur, Shahadat Hossan Zakir, Mahfuz Ahmed, Maria Sultana and Tohura Akhter.

All the winners will be awarded with crests, certificates and prize bonds.
