The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources will observe Power and Energy Week from December 10 to 12, to create public awareness of the efficient use of energy.
The ministry has planned programmes to observe the week across the country, Power Cell Director General Mohammad Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune yesterday. President Md Abdul Hamid is scheduled to formally inaugurate the event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital.
The Power and Energy Ministry will organise seminars and symposiums at the BICC to discuss power and energy policy, with the Power Division organising two seminars per day on December 11 and 12.
The Power Cell director general said officials and employees in public sector power and energy entities will be rewarded for outstanding performance.
There will be also an exhibition of power and energy-related goods at which local and international public and private firms will showcase their products and services.
