Bangladesh prepares drone policy

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) is planning to formulate a policy on the use of drones in Bangladesh. Remote-controlled toy aircraft for children will also fall under this policy.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry yesterday held a meeting at the Jatiya Sangshad building.

After the meeting, chairman of the committee Faruk Khan said Caab is making a draft policy on the use of drones. The draft policy will be finalised after consultation with experts.

Parliament Secretariat sources said Bangladesh Air Force and other government organisations have been working to finalise the policy.

According to draft policy, if any person or institution other than the military wants to use drone, they will have to take permission from the Caab.
