A suspected robber has been killed in a “gunfight” with police in Gunaguri area under Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
Banshkhali OC Shopon Kumar Mojumdar said: “A police patrolling team noticed the gang of robbers while they were preparing for robbery in the area around 1:15am Monday.”
Sensing the presence of police, the robbers opened fire on them.
In retaliation, police fired back that left one of the robbers dead.
Meanwhile, two policemen were also bullet wounded in the incident.
Later, police recovered a light gun and sent the body to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
