Two women have been killed and four others injured in a collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and a pickup on the Jhinai bridge under sadar upazila in Jamalpur.
The deceased is Pankha Begum, 58, wife of Shahijal of Bahadurabad area and Hawa Begum, 55, wife of Shahjamal of Sajimara village. The two were passengers of the autorickshaw.
Witness said a fish-laden pickup van collided head-on with an autorickshaw on the bridge around 8am Sunday, leaving two women dead on the spot.
Later, the injured were admitted to Jamalpur General Hospital in a critical condition.
Sadar police station OC Abdul Awal confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
