The Malaysia government has detained 15 Bangladeshis during a raid.
The Star Online of Malaysia reported this on Thursday.
According to the report, a total of 89 foreigners of eight nationalities were caught for various immigration offences in a raid at a plywood factory in Pokok Sena.
Kedah Immigration Depart-ment Director Mohamad Yusri Hashim said the foreigners arrested comprised 26 Nepalis, 21 Indonesians, 21 Vietnamese, 15 Bangladeshis, two Chinese nationals, two Pakistanis, a Cambodian and a Myanmar national.
They were among 860 foreigners and locals screened during the raid led by Kedah Immigration Depart-ment assistant director Nar Azaman Ibrahim at 2:45pm on Tuesday, said the report.
Yusri said the Chinese nationals tried to escape but were arrested shortly afterwards.
“It is believed that they were employed as technicians to repair the factory’s plywood processing machines which were made in China.”
