The website of Sonali Bank, a state-owned leading commercial bank, has been restored on Wednesday morning, a few hours after it was found hacked.
Hacker identifying himself/herself as “K1nGnCa,” broke into the website sometimes early Wednesday and took control of it.
The home page of the Sonali Bank website was found carrying a picture of a hooded person in black background above the notice— “Hacked By K1nGnCa’.
The hacker also called himself/ herself a “Muslim Hacker.”
While visiting the site around 8am Wednesday, the website carried a message from the hackers claiming the website had been “own3d.”
Later, it was found restored around 10am.
When contacted, Sonali Bank IT DGM Shamimul Haque told the Dhaka Tribune: “We have restored the site immediately after noticing the matter. Now everything is under control.
“We have already requested our content vendor to provide detailed information regarding the incident and take necessary measure to ensure more security.”
