The taxpayers, who are yet to submit their income tax returns, will have to submit it by today with the expiry of the extended deadline.
Although the original deadline for submitting income tax return is September 30, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) had earlier extended the deadline till November 30 to help the taxpayers submit their returns.
The NBR made the decision following poor response from the taxpayers and requests from Bangladesh’s apex trade body FBCCI, other trade bodies, professional organisations, lawyers and individuals.
Earlier on yesterday, the FBCCI requested the NBR to extend the deadline by another month till December 31.
