State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim has said the government was able to foil many plans of sabotage by blocking social media platform Facebook.
She made the statement while talking to the journalists at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
She said: “We were able to foil many plans of sabotage by blocking Facebook. If you want, you can talk to the Home Ministry regarding it.
“They will be able to give you details regarding those subversive activities we managed to avoid.”
Talking about alternative means to use social media accounts, she said: “Those who are still using Facebook with alternative means might land up getting their accounts hacked.”
