The Islamic State (IS) has claimed the responsibility for the attack on devotees at a Shia mosque in Shibganj upazila, Bogra.
SITE Intelligence group disclosed the information in a report on Thursday.
The report said: “The Islamic State (IS) claimed credit for the November 26, 2015 attack on a Shi’ite mosque in Bangladesh’s Bogra district.”
On Thursday, a group of youths opened fire on the devotees at the Shia mosque during the Maghrib prayers, killing the muezzin and injuring three others.
The attack took place a month after two people had been killed as miscreants hurled hand grenades at a Tazia procession of the Shia Muslims in Old Dhaka, on the occasion of Ashura on November 24.
