Death row war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s son Hummam Quader Chowdhury has been denied a meeting with the president at Bangabhaban Saturday afternoon.
He went to meet the president around 4:40pm.
Following the denial Hummam told the Dhaka Tribune that Bangabhaban officials did not allow him to meet the president saying there was a procedure for such meeting and that he had not carried out the procedure.
Before entering the Bangabhaban, Hummam told the Dhaka Tribune that they wanted to meet the president, the uppermost figure in the country's constitution.
The family members of death row war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury had expressed wish to meet the president on Saturday.
BNP leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy made the disclosure in a press conference at BNP chairperson's Gulshan political office on Saturday.
Claiming that the trial procedure in Salauddin's war crimes case was faulty, he said: "Salauddin's family members want to meet the president with all related documents."
