The internet service has been restored across the country after a brief suspension on Wednesday.
Access to the internet was denied for about two hours immediately after the Supreme Court upheld the death penalty for Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid.
According to a BTRC source, the internet service was restored around 3:15pm while it was found inaccessible from 1:15pm.
But several social media networking sites remain inaccessible and some mobile phone apps are still not working.

Earlier in the day, the government ordered blocking the internet service across the country on a temporary basis on security grounds.
While talking to the Bangla Tribune, a sister concern of the Dhaka Tribune, Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) President MA Hakim expressed hope that internet services would come back by evening.
Earlier, the government ordered blocking popular social media platform Facebook and online messaging and voice calling services WhatsApp and Viber on the same ground.

The BTRC issued a letter in this regard to different telecom operators and all internet service providers, asking them to stop the services immediately.
Security concerns have emerged after the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld international crimes tribunals' death penalties for BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid for crimes they committed against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War rejecting their review pleas.
