A college student has been killed when a speedy driven truck ran him over near the capital's Khilgaon Rail Gate area.
The deceased is Md Shahin, 20, a first year student of Khilgaon Model School and College, said Khilgaon police station SI Md Alam.
Shahin's uncle Mohammad Ali told the Dhaka Tribune: “The truck hit him around 6am while he was returning home after Fajr prayers, leaving him critically injured.
“He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.”
“Unfortunately, the killer truck's driver and his assistant could flee the scene,” said SI Alam.
