Dhaka stands with Paris

The president, prime minister and chairperson of the BNP have expressed shock and condemnation over multiple terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday night that have claimed more than 120 lives.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris and pledged to work with France to fight terrorism and violent extremism.

“I am deeply shocked by the series of terrorist attacks in Paris that killed so many innocent people and left many others injured. I along with the people and the government of Bangladesh strongly condemn these acts of terror and stand in solidarity with the people and the government of France,” she said in a condolence message sent to French President Francois Hollande.

The prime minister said terrorists are terrorists irrespective of colour or creed and have no place in civilised society. “We are together in our fight against terrorism and violent extremism,” she said.

President Md Abdul Hamid strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris and expressed deep condolences to the family members of the victims.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia condemned the attack and said: “I am surprised, stunned and aggrieved over the terrorist attack in Paris.

“We are … with the world community, including France, and the peace-loving people of the world against all sorts of extremism and terrorism.”
