Members of Rapid Action Battalion have detained three people from Chapainawabganj for their suspected involvement with the murder of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi.
The detainees are Rajib Hossain alias Meril Sumon, 25, Noushad Hossain alias Rubel alias Kala Rubel, 27, and Kajol Chandra Barman alias Bharsa Kajol, 25.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan said they were detained with a pistol, a revolver, a magazine, two bullets and a machete.

RAB 5 Commanding Officer Mahbub Alam said the three went on hiding since the Japanese citizen's murder.
He said the detainees admitted that they were involved in the murder.
The RAB official, however, said they are yet to find the detainees' political link.
