Field level government officials have been directed to share innovative and positive contents on Facebook.
The government has recently issued an order in this regard.
The order reads information technology and social media created opportunity for expressing opinion. But public servants do not have the opportunity to act independently and behave in a way which does not correspond with his job.
A divisional commissioners' coordination meeting held at the cabinet division in October discussed on a government official's post on Facebook. In the meeting, it was mentioned that the photo was not consistent with the official's professional position.
