The local administration has imposed section 144 at Ramnewaz ghat and its adjacent areas in Manpura upazila following growing concern of clash between two village groups.
Sources said the section 144 came into effect from Saturday morning and it would be in force till the further order from the authorities concerned.
When asked, Manpura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ershad Hossain Khan admitted it and said at least 30 people including a local UP chairman got hospitalised being injured in a clash between two village groups, centring collecting borrowed money from a man on Tuesday.
As sequel to the incident, apprehension of fresh clash appeared there and he compelled to impose the section 144 to ensure peaceful law and order situation in the area, the UNO continued.
Bhola Superintendent of Police Md Maniruzzaman said additional policemen have been deployed on the spot to prevent any untoward incident further.
