Novoair set to launch Dhaka-Yangon flights

Novoair, a private airliner of the country, is set to commence its maiden international flight on Dhaka-Yangon-Dhaka route from December 1, this year. 

Mofizur Rahman, managing director of Novoair came up with the disclosure at a press conference held at a city hotel yesterday. 

Initially, the airliner will operate three flights a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. The round-trip fair is fixed at Tk25,220 (including all taxes) while Embraer ERJ145 aircraft will operate the flight, said Mofizur while addressing the press conference.

Managing director of the airlines also announced that the airliner would launch more international flights on others routes very soon.

Sohail Majid, head of marketing and sales, and other top officials of Novoair were present at the press conference.

Novoair, which has been operating its flights in domestic routes for the last three years, has already won the award of the country’s best airliner for its excellent schedule maintenance and eloquent customer service.

Terming the fixed airfare on the maiden international route is affordable, Mofizur Rahman said, “We have a plan to reduce the airfare if the fuel price is reduced.” 

Novo offers a travel package for two nights and three days including visa processing and hotel booking at a cost of Tk32,300 per person on twin share basis.

Currently, the Novoair operates domestic flight in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Jessore. It will also start its flights on Sayedpur, Rajshahi and Barisal routes.

Sohail Majid said: “As Yangon is a very exotic tourist location for the travellers, the number of tourists has increased by one million every year on an average during the last three years.”

“We will organise a similar press conference in Yangon to brief the Myanmar national about Bangladesh’s popular and historic tourism destinations for attracting tourists from Myanmar,” said Majid. 

Tourists can visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, the largest reclining Buddha, Royal Kandougyi lake, Lnya Lake, fascinating Bogok market, most of colonial heritage buildings out of United Kingdom and the vibrant lifestyles of Myanmar.
