Oman Air has launched a flight service from Dhaka to Muscat.
Rashed Khan Menon, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, inaugurated this service on Sunday evening.
Ambassador of Oman to Bangladesh Omar Bin Mohammed Bin Ramdhan Al Balushi and Country Manager (Bangladesh) of Oman Air Khondaker A Kabir were present.
Dhaka will be the airline’s second destination in Bangladesh. The service will initially offer four flights per week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Its frequency will increase from December 1 this year, with flights on Mondays and Wednesdays being added to the schedule.
Fight WY-317 will arrive in Dhaka on Fridays and Sundays at 4:30pm and depart at 6pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Flight WY-315 will arrive at 8:05pm and depart at 9:20pm, offering convenient connections to various Middle Eastern and European destinations.
Oman Air currently operates seven flights a week between Chittagong and Muscat, the capital of Oman.
The airline will serve customers on the new route using the award-winning Airbus 330-300s, configured with 204 Economy Class seats and 26 Business Class seats.
Oman Air Chief Operating Officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy, said: “Oman Air is very happy to start its second destination in Bangladesh, in the capital city of Dhaka. Flights between Muscat and Dhaka mark a significant milestone in enhancing trade, manpower, tourism and cultural exchange between Oman and Bangladesh.”
