No security alert has been issued at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HISA), an official handout clarified the government stand responding to some media news in this regard.
"The airport authority restricted entry of spectators to the airport for rearranging security system and carrying out renovation work at HISA," the handout said.
The release said some television channels and online newspapers published news that red alert has been issued at HISA. "It is not true. And this kind of news can create confusion among people," it added.

Earlier, Airport Director Zakir Hasan told newsmen that they have made the overall security system of the airport tightened from last night considering the current situation.
"The news of issuing red alert at the airport is not true. We have just made the security system tougher. Nothing to worry about it," he said.
